Resting Between Weight Training Is Critical

Proper rest is one of the four most important aspects of a workout program. The problem is that it is one of the most ignored one too. Most of the good bodybuilding programs that I have read have clearly laid our requirement for sleep and proper rest. However, most of the bodybuilders still ignore it. There is no valid reason for it but arrogrance and result of some false marketing. A lot of supplement manufacturing companies go on marketing about catabolic happening in your body while you are asleep. At basic level it is wasting of muscles and as such bodybuilders ten to want to avoid sleep. Don't let such notions fool you. This is just a very popular false marketing gimmick by some vague supplement manufacturing companies. Improper rest can lead to a lot of other conditions like stress.

You need to understand the body fatigue. You need to accept that workouts tire you and your body needs rest. There are basically two kind of fatigue, physical and mental. Bodybuilders have to cope with both and if you are not taking proper rest, they will take your toll on you. Your muscle recover during rest. You may try to go against the tide and go against your fatigue level. You can try that but its only going to hamper your muscle growth. If you don't rest properly your fatigue level is only going to rise till you give up.

We will discuss each of this thing here in a serial wise manner. First of all, proper nutrition. Once you start doing workouts or enter bodybuilding, your normal diet is no more sufficient. You need a lot more protein. You need more than the daily average consumption of vitamins and minerals. Also, you will need to increase your meal counts. You just can't stay on 3-4 meals a day. You need to be eating more and more often and six meals a day is like basic minimum. You need to increase your water intake. I will suggest you better checkout your nutritionist before you start using a bodybuilding program.

To understand it better take bodybuilding like a construction job. When you workout you are essentially pouring concrete. The amount of cement (the binding force) is the nutrients you put in. However, you need to give the concrete the time to settle down and become solid. If you just keep on pouring more and more concrete its just going to flow down and damage the entire structure. Don't let that happen to you. You are the sculpture of your body. Give it the best shape. Think of sleeping as the repair time for your body. You have exhausted your muscles with a proper workout, now let them rest and repair themselves. When you get up in morning for next workout you will find yourself in so much better shape and full of energy.

The third thing, check out for supplements. Unless your diet is well planned by an nutritionist, you are going to have a hard time getting it right. Using supplements is a better way of making sure that you are getting all that your body needs. Trust me it works! You can read more about supplements in the bodybuilding supplement section.

The ideal amount of sleep varies from body types. But getting eight to ten hours of sleep is normal and required. You may try to workout before sleep to drain of excessive energy. Avoid caffeinated foods and drinks about six hours before you plan to sleep. Keep a snack nearby if your hunger gets you up.

Make absolutely certain that you are getting eight to ten hours of rest a night. If you aren't, try working out about three to four hours before bedtime to burn off excess energy. Avoid caffeinated foods and drinks about six hours before bedtime, and also have a small snack right before bed so that hunger doesn't wake you up too early.
